Create a beneficiary contact list
Generally, when you write your will, you will be asked to identify the name and address of each beneficiary you list. This is used to help identify the beneficiaries if questions arise. But separate from the will, you should keep a contact list that will be helpful for your executor. It should include more information than name and address. It also should include a home and/or cell phone number as well as an email address.
This list should be updated anytime contact information or names change. For example, if someone moves or gets married or divorced, changes should be noted so it is easy for your executor to contact the beneficiaries.
