It is the responsibility of an executor to ensure these bills are paid as long as the home or apartment is owned or rented by the estate. If there is a legitimate concern that there is not enough money in the estate to pay such bills, it is important to consult with the estate’s attorney about how to proceed. Also, you must follow any court-mandated rules regarding bill payment.
