Discuss and act on any other wishes of will writer

The person who asked you to serve as the executor of the estate might, in the course of your conversation, give you instructions that are not listed in the will. If that is the case, you will want to strongly suggest to the will writer that these instructions are incorporated in the will by an attorney. As an executor, you cannot typically honor these wishes unless they are in the will.
